New Feature: View Cancellations

You may have noticed a new button on the schedule page called View Cancellations

This new feature has three awesome parts to it.
1. It lets you see the time slots where customers have cancelled.
2. It gives you the names of the people who were previously booked.
AND
3. It also gives you the day/time the appointment was cancelled and who the appointment was cancelled by.

Here is how you can access this feature:
> Click on View Cancellations. You will then see a green box in the time slots of where cancellations have been made. There will also be a number in the green box that will tell you how many people have canceled in that spot.

> Click on the green box and a pop up window will appear with all the details of the past cancellations.

> To go back to viewing just the schedule page without the cancellations, click on the red Hide Cancellations.

Helping Your Customers Spread the Word About Your Business

One of my favourite features with Resurva is giving users the option to share to their Twitter feed or Facebook timeline that they’ve “just booked” with your business.

I love that it gives an instant promotion of our clients and their amazing businesses. Yet, it’s still safe and secure enough that no user appointment details are released. All your customers have to do is:
1. Create the booking using their FB or Twitter account. Then, on the last page of the booking process where they would click the blue Create button, they…
2. Check off the box that says “Share my booking on Twitter” or “Share my booking on Facebook
3. Review the text that will be posted to their FB timeline or Twitter feed
4. Finally, click the blue Create button and their appointment with your business has been made and this has been posted to their account

Referral is one of the best ways to get new customers and this feature certainly helps make it easier for your existing customers to spread the word about your business. New Feature: Specific Provider Notifications for Admins

You can now tie certain booking notifications to certain Admin accounts. For example, if you have a provider as an Admin, you can now select that they receive booking notifications for only the appointments that are booked with them.

To assign the booking notifications, please do the following:

> Click on Settings at the top of the screen.
> Click on Admin Accounts
> Click on the blue Edit button beside the Admin you wish to edit. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the box with the title “Receive Email Notifications for these Providers”.
> Check off the notifications you would like that Admin to receive.
> Click on the blue Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Tips And Tricks: Quick Edits to a Provider’s Availability

We’ve got two fun tricks on the schedule page that you can use to make quick edits to a provider’s availability.

1. Tap and Block Availability:
Tap and block availability is great for the times when you need to make a last minute adjustment to a provider’s schedule.

Located on the Schedule page,  click on “Tap to block On/Off

> Click or tap on the time you wish to block off > Click on the green “Save Availability” button when you’re done.

Voila! You’ve, updated your schedule within just a few seconds.

This feature also works in reverse, so if you need to turn a provider’s schedule from “Not Available” to “Available” follow the same procedure and you’ll see the not available times clear and become available for bookings.

2. Edit Availabilities:
This feature is great for when you need to rearrange start / end times for a day or need to block off a whole day for your provider(s).

Located on the Schedule page,  click on “Edit Availabilities

A little pop up will appear with two options; edit “Start / End Time or “Turn Off“.

To rearrange the start/end times: click on the blue “Start / End Time” button. > Select the time you wish to change the start and end time to. > Click on the blue Save button

To block off the whole day for a provider: click the red “Turn Off” button beside the provider who is not working that day. It will then turn the entire day into not available.

Update: Limited Access for Admin Accounts

When first creating extra Admin accounts you have the option to select their account to be “All Access” or “Limited Access”.

All Access: same level of access as your Admin account.

Limited Access: access to only the schedule page with the info and details on the clients, providers and services. It allows the additional Admin to add/delete bookings, update client info or update a provider’s availability for the day. It does not give them access to the following sections: Analytics, Manage, Settings, Billing or Clients.

If you’ve created an additional Admin and given them limited access, you can now choose to take that access one step further and limit the Admin’s view so that it excludes the client’s contact info. Instead of seeing the client’s name and phone number, all they will see on the schedule page is the client’s name.

To activate this feature for your Limited Access Admins please do the following:

> Click on Settings at the top of the page
> Click on Admin Accounts
> Click on the blue Edit button beside the Admin you wish to edit
> The first block of information that you will see is called General Settings. This has the Admin’s email and first & last name listed in it. At the bottom of that section there is a line that now says “Limited access to client information” Check off the box beside side that sentence
> Click the blue Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Parallels, Crows Nest Barbershop & Resurva

At the end of January, software company Parallels dropped by Offshoot HQ to profile Resurva and our relationship with Crows Nest Barbershop.

In a relaxed conversation style Resurva founder James Hamilton, alongside Jon Roth, owner of Crows Nest Barbershop, talk about how Resurva has been a helping hand in the barbershop’s exponential growth.

The footage was then used in a case study that was shown in February at the 2013 Parallels Summit in Vegas, where they profiled clients who use Plesk for large scale server management.

New Feature: Padding Time

Sometimes with different services you need a little extra time to allow for transition from client to client, or, from room to room. We’ve added a padding feature that can be added before, after or to both sides of your bookings so you can ensure your clients get their full appointment time and you’re not running around worried that the next client will walk in.

Here’s how to activate the feature:
Login to your Admin Resurva account > Click on Manage on the top of the page > If you are creating a new service click the green Add New button or if you are updating an existing service click the blue Edit button beside the service you wish to update > Look for the line that says Padding Before and add how many minutes you would like padding for before the appointment > Do the same for Padding After and then click the blue Save button.

The schedule in your admin view will see the minutes of padding in yellow colour while the booking will remain in the blue. Your clients won’t know what services you’ve added padding too, all they will see on the booking form is what times are available for booking.
